A cool concept design imagines The Boys star Antony Starr as Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine replacement for the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies.
With Antony Starr currently terrorizing Amazon Prime subscribers as the villainous Homelander on The Boys, Instagram user “britedit” created this design that gives the actor the Adamantium claws to replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in the MCU. Starr has said that he’d love to play the mutant on the silver screen but noted that following up Jackman would be tough to do. It’s not clear how the mutants will be brought into the MCU, but Marvel’s Kevin Feige has mentioned that he’s working on that.
Antony Starr transforms into Wolverine for Marvel
The Wolverine concept design gives The Boys star Antony Starr both the Adamantium claws and the character’s black and yellow outfit. After seeing what Antony Starr can do in The Boys and Banshee, his version of Wolverine would certainly be interesting, to say the least. You can see the actor as Wolverine below.
The prospect of Hugh Jackman unsheathing his claws once more as Wolverine in Deadpool 3 has fans on the edge of their seats, given his iconic portrayal of the grizzled mutant. Jackman’s return, set against the zany backdrop of Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool, promises a dynamic that will surely infuse the MCU with renewed vigor.
Amid whispers of Jackman also reprising his Wolverine role in the much-anticipated Avengers: Secret Wars, the stakes for the MCU web are higher than ever. His presence in such a pivotal film could bridge the gap between the established MCU and the newly integrated mutants, marking a significant shift in the franchise’s direction.
Marvel’s strategy appears to be weaving legacy characters with fresh faces, a move that could provide the necessary anchor for newer heroes to find their footing. With Jackman’s Wolverine being a character etched in cinematic history, his return could be the touchstone for this ambitious crossover.
