The New Mutants star explained that it was super trippy watching her performance as Magik because at the time she felt so grown-up. The actress explained that she’s grown since then, but that playing Magik in The New Mutants was a lot of fun.

“It’s super trippy but mostly because I mean I think everybody that’s coming into their twenties – you think you’re so grown-up when you hit twenty, then you’re twenty one and I’m just like, you’re a baby. Like oh my god, I feel like I’ve grown up a lot since then. But it’s a lot of fun, because that character is a lot of fun to play with.”

Anya Taylor-Joy was then asked about her favorite thing about Magik in The New Mutants, with the actress explaining that she’s “sassy.” The New Mutants star went on to mention that Magik doesn’t care about much aside from her own issues in the film, but that it was fun being able to go onset with a definite attitude for the character.

“Ooh, she’s just sassy. Like, she really doesn’t care about very much. And it’s fun to go into any set environment with that sort of bad ass attitude.”
