The new trailer for Disney’s Artemis Fowl has arrived online, showing the magical world of the children’s books brought to life.
Disney’s next franchise sees the world of Eoin Colfer’s Artemis Fowl books come to the big screen for a magical adventure that introduces audiences to an incredibly advanced underworld of fairies, elves, trolls and dwarves. The story in the books sees criminal mastermind Artemis Fowl kidnap a fairy for a large ransom so that he can replenish his family’s fortune after his father’s disappearance. It seems that Disney’s Artemis Fowl is heading in a slightly different direction.
The new trailer for Disney’s Artemis Fowl reveals Colin Farrell’s role as Fowl’s father, who is kidnapped by a mysterious figure from the magical world hiding just beneath our own. The trailer shows Artemis having to follow in his father’s footsteps in order to find him, with the help of Nonzo Anozie’s Butler and Lara McDonnell’s elven officer Holly Short. Director Kenneth Brannagh’s blend of science fiction and fantasy should translate well to the big screen, but fans of the series might not be happy with the character shift from genuine criminal mastermind to sympathetic hero. Take a look at the new trailer below.
