‘Aquaman’ Battle Compared To ‘Lord Of The Rings’ & ‘The Matrix’

Aquaman Orm Patrick Wilson

Warner Bros. China screened 25 minutes of Aquaman footage in Beijing, much of which were the films’ action sequences. While the complete film was not screened, the action sequences have received mostly praised based off of early reactions to the footage.

One particular reaction that will certainly capture fans’ attention is one that claims that James Wan directed an battle scene that is comparable to those seen in films such as The Lord of the Rings Trilogy and The Matrix.

Other exciting reactions coming from this Beijing premiere include one that proclaims James Wan as the savior of the DCEU following the disappointing performance of Justice League:

From the trailers and TV spots alone, it looks like Wan has crafted some exciting new action sequences on both land and sea. He looks to have left his own signature stamp on this major franchise and DC is sure lucky to have him on board.

December can’t come soon enough.

Here is the synopsis for Aquaman:

From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm / Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Ludi Lin as Captain Murk, and Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry.

Aquaman will be released in theaters nationwide on December 21, 2018.
