Justice League director Zack Snyder has revealed that he is excited for James Wan’s Aquaman.

2017’s Justice League is far from being one of the worst superhero movies of all time but its departure from Zack Snyder’s original vision in favor of a more Marvel tone left some DC fans cold. To this day, fans still campaign for Warner Bros. to release a cut of Justice League that features Snyder’s original footage using the hashtag #ReleaseheSnyderCut. Though the Snyder Cut doesn’t seem to be releasing anytime soon, one of the film’s heroes Aquaman (Jason Momoa), will be headlining his own solo adventure arriving in theaters just in time for Christmas.

Despite the infamous post-production of Snyder’s final DC film, he’s still happy to support the latest addition to the DCEU, Aquaman. A 5-minute long trailer for the film was released earlier this week, showcasing incredible action scenes and the titular hero in his iconic comic book costume. The trailer got fans so hyped that even Snyder had to take to the social media platform Vero to express his excitement. Check out the image below.

Although Snyder did not have a hand in writing Aquaman, he still has an Executive Producer credit on the film. Aquaman is currently slated to hit theaters in an opening weekend populated by films like Mary Poppins Returns, Bumblebee, and The Deadpool Before Christmas. It will also be going up against two big-budget holdovers from the previous weekend, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Mortal Engines.

Despite the crowded release schedule full of highly-anticipated movies, the reception from fans who saw the most recent Aquaman trailer may indicate that the film could be one of the holiday season’s biggest films.
