‘Aquaman’ Becomes Highest-Grossing Warner Bros. Film In China

Come Aboard

Believe it or not, it has been over a year since Justice League, DC’s last superhero film to hit theaters. It’s been quite the wait, but Aquaman finally opens here in the United States this weekend; however, the film has already been showing for at least a week in many overseas markets and to much success.

The film seems to have caught on particularly in China, where, Warner Bros, announced the film has already grossed over $209.5 million. That officially makes Aquaman the studio’s all-time top performer in China. Internationally, the film has already surpassed $332.1 million. That is $12.1 million more than it needed to make in order to break even. The feat is even more impressive considering domestic numbers have not even come in yet, which means everything from here on out is nothing but icing on the cake.
