‘Aquaman’ Star Amber Heard Wants To Team Up With Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman Aquaman Mera Arthur DC Comics Amber HeardAmber Heard is down for a team-up movie featuring her Aquaman character Mera and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot).

Heard has made it very apparent while promoting Aquaman that her character Mera is no damsel in distress. The character is apparently a very powerful force and fans got a glimpse of those powers when she briefly appeared in 2017’s Justice League.

This time around, Mera will be along for more of the adventure when Aquaman hits U.S. theaters later this month. Heard recently spoke with The Hollywood Reporter and during the interview, she revealed that she’d love Mera to team up with another DC Extended Universe icon, Wonder Woman.

“I would really love to team up with Wonder Woman. That would be a kickass duo right there. But I’m vying for a spin-off, right? You heard it here. Fishing for, whatever I’m fishing for with The Hollywood Reporter, I’m putting it first out there. Mera and Wonder Woman spin-off. Go for it Warner Bros.”

Aquaman kicks off a very interesting DCEU slate when it opens. A few months after Aquaman hits theaters, Shazam! will debut and feature a much more grounded, comedic adventure. Then in October of 2019, the highly-anticipated film the Joker hits theaters and seems to be delivering a much grittier, darker story than the other two. After that, fans can look forward to Wonder Woman 1984 and Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn).
