Armor Wars showrunner Yassir Lester addressed the show’s absence from Marvel Studios’ San Diego Comic-Con presentation.
Marvel Studios made a massive splash at San Diego Comic-Con with their first appearance at Hall H in three years. Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios not only announced titles for Phase Five, but also revealed projects for Phase Six. However, fans were quick to notice Armor Wars was missing from Marvel’s slate, despite the show being announced during Disney Investor Day in 2020.
Marvel Studios typically makes the projects they announce, with Inhumans being the rare expectation. Last August, it was revealed that Yassir Lester had been tapped as the showrunner of Armor Wars, and he assured fans on Instagram after Marvel’s panel that the series was still in the works.
Where Will Rhodey Show Next?
With no news at San Diego Comic-Con this year, Marvel Studios might be saving Armor Wars announcements for D23 in September. While we might now have a definitive timeline on when Armor Wars will hit Disney Plus, we do know that Don Cheadle will reprise his role as War Machine in Secret Invasion next.
Here’s the official synopsis for Don Cheadle’s last MCU appearance in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier:
Following the events of “Avengers: Endgame,” Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) team up in a global adventure that tests their abilities—and their patience—in Marvel Studios’ “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.”
Directed by Kari Skogland from scripts written by showrunner Malcolm Spellman and Derek Kolstad, the series stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Falcon, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter, Daniel Brühl as Baron Helmut Zemo, and Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S. Agent. Desmond Chiam, Miki Ishikawa, Noah Mills, and Carl Lumbly also appear.
