In a recent convention appearance, Arrow star Stephen Amell confessed that he had a hard time breathing in the Flash suit for the upcoming Elseworlds crossover.
During the appearance, he talked about a number of things. This included a cut Batman joke, his wife appearing on the show with him and the new script length that he had dealt with. But interestingly enough, his worst nightmare on the crossover seemed to be getting into the Flash suit.
He talked about getting new pants for his costume on Arrow and what he referred to as “new pants day”. Apparently for the first two days of getting said pants he has a hard time breathing while wearing them. For the Flash suite, however, it was like this for his entire body:
When I’m on Arrow and when I get new leather pants, we call it new pants day. For 2 days I can’t breathe with these pants on. So when I put the Flash suit on for the first time, it was like that except for my entire body. In between takes, if it looks like I’m uncomfortable, it’s because I am.
From the sound of things, Stephen Amell had a rough time on the set of Elseworlds crossover event.
The upcoming Arrow crossover event is set to be one of the most ambitious the CW has attempted. With major roles entirely switched around, the Monitors becoming a major threat, the reappearance of Superman, and the first appearance of Batwoman, it will be something to behold. Let’s just hope that all suffering that Stephen Amell went through will be worth it in the end.
The 2018 Elseworlds crossover starts with a special episode of The Flash on Sunday, December 9 and continues with Arrow on Monday, December 10. The three-night event will then conclude with Supergirl on Tuesday, December 11.
All three entries will air at 8:00 p.m. ET on their respective nights.
