Could Aubrey Plaza and Kathryn Hahn have looked even better? Concept art for Agatha All Along reveals new designs for their characters in death!
Aubrey Plaza’s Rio Vidal was one of the standout stars of Agatha All Along. Her chemistry with Kathryn Hahn was some of the best seen throughout the entire MCU, and the twist that she was playing Death was one of the most shocking (or it would have been if Funko didn’t spoil it beforehand).
This left many hardcore fans begging to see any hint at concept art for Aubrey Plaza’s character to see how they changed throughout the development of Agatha All Along. Their wish came through with a recent post by costume designer Daniel Selon, revealing an early look at Death’s costume during her fight with Kathryn Hahn’s heroine.
Kathryn Hahn’s Ghostly Redesign In Agatha All Along
Aubrey Plaza’s Death wasn’t the only character to get a redesign in Agatha All Along. Concept art reveals that Kathryn Hahn’s wicked witch was originally meant to sport a slightly different outfit in death, with her dress being much more spectral in nature compared to the final product.
Unlike most shows, Agatha All Along stayed surprisingly faithful to their concept art. The redesign for Kathryn Hahn and Aubrey Plaza’s characters mostly came down to making their costumes more practical and cohesive on camera. And given how many costumes had to be made for the show, with the leads changing into extravagant outfits nearly every trial, it’s a shock that death didn’t come for the designers with how much they had to work!
