The first reactions to James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water are overwhelmingly positive.

The long-awaited sequel to Avatar, The Way of Water is set to hit theaters next week. Early reactions to the movie have hit the web following its world premiere in the United Kingdom, teasing that James Cameron has delivered a hit 13 years after the release of its predecessor.

Avatar: The Way of Water is on track for a massive opening weekend at the North American box office, with analysts estimating that the movie is looking at a debut north of $150 million. The Way of Water is rated PG-13 and runs for 3 hours and 12 minutes, making it about 30 minutes longer than the first Avatar movie. Its budget is somewhere between $350 million to $400 million.

What is Avatar: The Way of Water about?

“Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, Avatar: The Way of Water begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure” according to Disney’s official synopsis for the film.

Directed by James Cameron from a script he co-wrote with Josh Friedman, The Way of Water stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement, Giovanni Ribisi and Kate Winslet.
