‘Avengers 4’ Set Photo May Tease Awesome New Iron Man Weapon

Iron Man Avengers 4 Guardians 3 Infinity War Marvel Iron Man

Like many directors, one thing that the Russo Brothers want their fans to do when they post images is to look deep for details and hints. Granted, that hasn’t prevented many from tearing their hair out in an attempt to guess what the title for the untitled Avengers 4 film may be, but the Infinity War directors know how to string fans along and get their brains working.  So let’s dive back to Infinity War for a moment. If you recall, when Rhodey and Rogers reunited in a workshop, you noticed a massive weapon that never came into play in the film itself.

But as always, remember: “Next time, baby.” And now that next time has arrived, as a new photo, shared on Instagram gives us a closer look at that device. For any fans out there of the Marvel vs. Capcom series — including yours truly — you’ll recognize that this device looks very similar to the proton cannon used in those games. Sure, this doesn’t mean that by the time Avengers 4 rolls around that this will be for Stark. Heck, it could be for Rhodey, too. He is suited up for just about every single gun, if you figure.

Here, have a look at the Avengers 4 photo for yourself and determine what you think this could mean for the film:

With the Avengers in sort of a rough spot by the end of Infinity War, with Thanos having achieved perfect balance as all things should be by snapping half of humanity out of existence, it remains to be seen just how, if at all, either Stark or Rhodey would utilize this weapon in Avengers 4, but what do you think? Could this device be there just for show or do you believe it will indeed be utilized in the follow-up to Infinity War? Let us know your theories in the comments below.

Avengers: Infinity War is available now on Digital HD, 4K, Blu-Ray, and DVD.
