Concept art from Avengers: Age of Ultron imagines the villain with a more faithful look to his comic book counterpart.

At the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron, the titular supervillain was eventually destroyed by Vision, but some fans are hoping that he will make a return at some point down-the-line. In the comics, Ultron was a creation of Hank Pym, but the Marvel Cinematic Universe version of the character was created by Tony Stark.

Avengers: Age of Ultron also made some changes to the character’s appearance by making him more humanistic to bring out James Spader’s performance. Marvel Studios concept artist Charlie Wren shared an early design on Instagram for Ultron that looks more comic book accurate before the people behind the movie decided to bring more of a human element to his look.
