‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ Concept Artist Reveals Alternate Hulkbuster Armor

Marvel Studios’ Head of Visual Development Charlie Wen has revealed early Hulkbuster concept art for Avengers: Age of Ultron.

When the Avengers confronted Ultron in Johannesburg, the villainous cyborg dispatched Scarlet Witch to drive Bruce Banner/Hulk into a rampage that caused severe damage to the city. To subdue the Green Goliath, Tony Stark summoned the Hulkbuster armor he designed to contain or at least evenly match the Hulk.

Now, Marvel Studios’ Head of Visual Development Charlie Wen has taken to his official Instagram account to share an early design for the Hulkbuster in Avengers: Age of Ultron. In his caption, Wen explained that the mobility on the early Hulkbuster design was too limiting, though they did consider “fun ideas” such as an expanding outer layer of the armor that can be used as a weapon against the Hulk in close range.
