‘Avengers’ Star Bradley Cooper Believes Thanos Might Have A Point

Bradley Cooper Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 Thanos Avengers

Academy Award-nominee Bradley Cooper is receiving critical acclaim for his directorial debut, A Star is Born. Along with his numerous acclaimed roles that include Oscar-nominated turns in Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle and American Sniper, Cooper is well known to Marvel fans as the voice of Rocket in the Guardians of the Galaxy series and most recently, Avengers: Infinity War, where Earth’s Mightiest Heroes assemble with the Guardians to face off against Thanos (spoiler alert: they lost).

While promoting A Star is Born, Cooper was interviewed by BBC 1 and was asked about his thoughts on Avengers: Infinity War. Cooper showered the blockbuster with praise, and made had an interesting comment about Thanos:

“Yeah. It was amazing. That’s why that movie works. Thanos is… What a character. The fact that he made you, kind of, go like ‘He’s got a point, right? He’s got a point.’ And part of me is like ‘I’m glad he’s sitting there on his chair, with the sun coming down.’ I mean, I hate that half of the world’s dead, but there’s a part of me that’s like, ‘He succeeded!’ I don’t know what that says about me.”

It’s interesting to hear Cooper’s thoughts on the film – particularly Thanos’ motivations and character development. Obviously, he’s not defending the actions of the genocidal maniac of a Mad Titan, but he must’ve been riveted by how Josh Brolin brought Thanos to life with his incredible performance and terrific writing from Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.
