A new rumor from Hollywood insider MyTimeToShineHello reveals that two beloved superheroes will be killed in the opening minutes of the MCU’s biggest crossover yet. Those, of course, being Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, two heroes who defined Marvel’s legacy in the early 2000s.

It’s important to note that this rumor should be taken with a grain of salt. Other reports suggest that Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man are set to play roles in both Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars. However, that doesn’t mean both reports can’t be true at the same time. The MCU is no stranger to killing a character, only to have a similar variant take their place.
It’s possible that Avengers: Doomsday does feature the death of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man in the opening minutes. However, if this rumor is true, it’s also possible that another character (likely Deadpool or Loki) plucks them from the timeline just before their deaths so they can help with saving the MCU’s Multiverse.
