Fans finally have their first look at Doctor Doom! Avengers: Doomsday has released a new promotional image of Robert Downey Jr. along with its synopsis.
Fans have a lot of worries about Doctor Doom leading into Avengers: Doomsday. The lack of being portrayed by a Romani actor, the ties to Iron Man inherent to being played by Robert Downey Jr., and having no connections to the Fantastic Four- just to name a few. However, one of the biggest elements fans are hoping the film doesn’t mess up is the character’s costume.
Doctor Doom has had two official costumes in live-action (three if one is to count the 1994 Fantastic Four film), ranging from the Halloween costume to the moldy avocado. Some fans hope that, regardless of how well Robert Downey Jr. portrays Doctor Doom, the budget of Avengers: Doomsday will at least be able to give the character a good costume. And, if the first promotional image from the film is anything to go by, it seems as though they’ll deliver.

Avengers: Doomsday Official Synopsis
However, it isn’t just Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom that received some official material this past week. The synopsis for Avengers: Doomsday has found its way online following a recent Disney event highlighting the film. And if this rundown is to be believed, it seems as though the villain will be comic-accurate in more ways than just his costume.
“Doctor Doom has officially arrived in the MCU. This villain, a master of cutting-edge science and powerful magic, will unleash a cascading crisis across the entire Multiverse.”
With Marvel already revealing the synopsis and a first look at Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, it’s likely than fans will see a teaser for Avengers: Doomsday before the end of the year. This lines up with usual expectations, as it’s all-but-confirmed that the project will be receiving a major trailer at next year’s Super Bowl in February.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters in December 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
