The cast of Avengers: Doomsday is getting just a bit bigger! The latest photo featuring the stars suggests two Black Panther supporting characters will appear.
While the infamous Chair Day revealed many wonderful surprises in store for Avengers: Doomsday, it also left a few glaring holes in the cast. Namely, when it comes to the MCU’s cosmic side, younger heroes, and the Black Panther films. While big names like Winston Duke and Letitia Wright were confirmed for the project, many of the more important minor characters were seemingly left on the cutting room floor.
However, it seems Black Panther may not be as underrepresented as first believed. The latest photo of the Avengers: Doomsday cast features many of the faces one would expect, with Simu Liu and Anthony Mackie being the biggest names among them. However, hidden in the mix are two more obscure MCU actresses: Mabel Cadena and Alex Livinalli. While their names may not ring a bell, they played Namora and Attuma respectively in the second Black Panther film.

How Black Panther Plays Into Avengers: Doomsday
Given their roles in the Black Panther franchise, it’s likely these two will only play a small role in scenes alongside Namor. However, just seeing them alongside Anthony Mackie and Simu Liu seems to confirm that Captain America’s Avengers team may be traveling to Wakanda to recruit Shuri during the events of Avengers: Doomsday, bringing them to blows with Namor before officially recruiting him for the team.
What’s truly surprising is the lack of Dora Milaje in this photo. While it’s possible they just didn’t go to dinner alongside the rest of the cast, one would assume at least Danai Gurira’s Okoye would tag along. This could suggest that, despite Black Panther characters appearing, the actual country of Wakanda won’t be playing a big role in Avengers: Doomsday.
