Does Doctor Doom win Avengers: Doomsday? A rumor suggests that the MCU shall be united in the Multiverse Saga….under the hand of Doom!
The rumor mill has largely stayed away from the climax of Avengers: Doomsday. Unlike other details about the MCU’s Multiverse Saga capstone, reports will likely become easily falsifiable after the first or second trailer drops. In addition, general audiences may forget that someone got the details wrong, but they won’t forget a bad call about the ending battle against Doctor Doom.
Though it seems Charles Murphy with Murphy’s Multiverse is ready to take a crack at the risky prospect. The scooper recently posted a rumor to social media that caused some fans to raise an eyebrow. Murphy explained that the climax of the film largely revolves around the failures of the MCU’s key heroes, leading to “One World Under Doom”.
“While Beast goes properly comic book dark (not Dark Beast but a Beast willing to do dark deeds), his plan isn’t enough. Neither is Reed’s. After they all fail, a pair of characters learn Doom’s true nature and the confrontation lands them as strangers in a strange land.
It’s there where all the remaining heroes from all the disparate Earths take on Doom and he suffers no fools. If you’re old, imagine in the 80s learning you’d see a movie where the X-Men, [Fantastic Four], and Avengers all team up against Doom on his home turf.”
“However, there wouldn’t be a Secret Wars if the heroes won, so instead it appears it’ll lead to everyone living in one world under Doom”
What Is One World Under Doom?
The wording of “One World Under Doom” makes this rumor much more interesting than it would usually be. For those unaware, One World Under Doom was the name of a rather controversial comic to hit the scene last year, which focused on the story of Earth becoming a utopia under the watch of Doctor Doom. Could the story be a hint at the MCU’s plans for the villain in Avengers: Doomsday?
Ending Avengers: Doomsday in the form of a utopian MCU could certainly be interesting. If this rumor is saying what fans think it might, it could be a way to tie the House of M and Spider Island stories into the end of the Multiverse Saga. This would also explain why Marvel’s slate for 2027 is almost completely barren – as their upcoming projects require the context of Avengers: Doomsday to make sense.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters in December 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
