Is Halle Berry finally making her return as Storm? A rumor reveals whether or not the actress will reprise one of her most iconic roles in Avengers: Doomsday.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to feature the return of many iconic heroes. Perhaps the most exciting is that the cast members of the original X-Men saga are set to reprise their roles in the film. However, not everyone was seemingly able to make the jump to the MCU. The most glaring actor left out of the line-up is Halle Berry, who played Storm in the original trilogy.
Of course, there has been some speculation that Marvel is hiding the biggest X-Men that are set to appear in Avengers: Doomsday for when the movie actually comes out. But as of right now, signs are certainly pointing to the fact that Halle Berry won’t be making a return. She’s spoken multiple times about reprising her role as Storm, admitting that she’s open to it, but the call didn’t come.
“Yeah, I would love to [return]. But you know.” Berry told BBC Radio 1Xtra, “No. No.”
Is Storm In Avengers: Doomsday?
Yet like most things in the world of comic book media, the rumor mill has an answer to fans. Sadly, it’s not likely to be the answer they want to hear. According to MyTimeToShineHello, Halle Berry will not be making her return as the iconic heroine in Avengers: Doomsday. The reason? Storm herself may be out of commission in that universe.
“Yeah unless they change it during reshoots her character is dead.”
While it’s a shame to hear that Storm will be MIA during the events of Avengers: Doomsday, it does make a decent bit of sense. Out of all the actors from the original X-Men films, Halle Berry would be one of the costlier ones to get to return. And with just how many actors are set to appear in the film, some hard cuts likely had to be made to keep the budget down.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters in December 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
