Is the multiverse finally coming to an end? A rumor suggests that only one timeline will be left standing by the finale of Avengers: Doomsday.
With Avengers: Doomsday marking the beginning of the end of the Multiverse Saga, fans have been questioning exactly how the MCU will be able to deescalate the stakes. After all, even if the big bad is defeated and every rumor about the franchise’s future comes true, some fans will never be able to forget that there ARE other timelines out there that simply aren’t being interacted with.
Or will there be? A rumor by MyTimeToShineHello suggests that the MCU’s multiverse may be coming to an end by force. The scooper reveals that, following the destruction of a key group to the Multiverse Saga, Doctor Doom will destroy every timeline except for one. And while they didn’t specify which one, fans have a few good guesses as to which will survive.
The Final Timeline In Avengers: Doomsday
A rumor has previously suggested that Doctor Doom’s home timeline is Earth-828, the home of the MCU’s Fantastic Four. And while it would be simple to say that that’s the only world he’d save in the destruction of the multiverse, it may not be that simple. After all, the rumor mill has also suggested that the villain experienced some major trauma there.
The best guess so far as to which universe would survive – if this rumor is true – is the Fox X-Men universe. While this may seem odd, it’s the main world in the multiverse that fans know of which holds mutants. By making this the new foundational universe, it could be the key to finally introducing mutants into the MCU.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters in December 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
