Is Marvel Studios trying to find the perfect trailer for Avengers: Doomsday? The latest rumor suggests that there may be more than one trailer in consideration.
While still technically a rumor, it’s an open secret that fans are getting their first look at Avengers: Doomsday relatively soon. The project’s first trailer is reportedly set to debut in front of Avatar: Fire and Ash, staring to build hype a year out during the theaters’ busiest season. And to say that the internet is both excited and terrified is an understatement.
The rumor mill has been rather cagey about what fans can expect form the trailer. The only concrete report (which should be taken with a major grain of salt) suggests that the footage will have a heavy focus on Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, painting the incarnation of the character in Avengers: Doomsday as akin to a Universal monster.

There may very well be a reason the rumor mill has been so silent about what might be in the trailer. A report from Kristan Harloff on his eponymous show suggests that Marvel Studios is actually making multiple cuts of the Avengers: Doomsday trailer. The only concrete details provided about any version of said trailer are that Peggy Carter and Steve Rogers will appear- albeit not in their super suits.
This rumor can almost be considered a fact (at least, when it comes to the trailer variations). Every studio in history has produced multiple cuts of every trailer they do to see what works best. But even if they didn’t, Marvel has a massive uphill battle in gaining audience trust back with Avengers: Doomsday, so the first trailer truly needs to be perfect.
