Ant-Man may have a big part to play in Avengers: Doomsday! The rumor mill gives fans a hint about Paull Rudd’s role when he makes his return in the MCU.
Marvel is still keeping details about Avengers: Doomsday under a pretty tight lock and key. However, some fans did finally get the smallest amount of information during this past week’s Destination D23 Expo. During the event, the Russo Brothers had a small video message for the crowd alongside Paul Rudd, with the clip marking his first official return as Ant-Man since the disastrous Quantumania.
This has left many to wonder why, of all characters, Paul Rudd was chosen to represent Avengers: Doomsday at D23. He’s far from the biggest Avenger to make their return in the movie, and his last project was one of the most controversial in the entire Multiverse Saga. Though, as with all things, the important of Ant-Man has seemingly been revealed in the rumor mill.
Ant-Man’s Role In Avengers: Doomsday
This rumor specifically comes from insider DanielRPK. The scooper reveals that Paul Rudd will have an “important” role as Ant-Man when he makes his return in Avengers: Doomsday. While not a lot of information, it does make sense that the character would have a spotlight in the Multiverse Saga, given he’s one of the few heroes whose film explicitly focused on the subject.
It’s likely, much like how Ant-Man was the key to time travel in Avengers: Endgame, Paul Rudd’s hero will be the one explaining how the Multiverse works in Avengers: Doomsday. This lines up with another rumor about the film, which suggests that the only Multiverse-centric hero to make their return may end up working for the other side.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters in December 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
