Does Doctor Doom have a true master plan? The latest rumor from the set of Avengers: Doomsday reveals that his ambitions may be simpler than fans thought.
There’s been a lot of questions about what Doctor Doom’s motivations will be heading into Avengers: Doomsday. This is because, unlike most major villains in the franchise, fans have never seen this incarnation of the character in action on the silver screen. This has left the rumor mill spitting out theories ranging from the maniacal to the messiah.
One of the most recent rumors pertaining to Avengers: Doomsday seems to shed the most sensible light on what Doctor Doom’s plan might actually be. According to insider DanielRPK, Doctor Doom has one very simple goal in the upcoming film: to call all beings responsible for incursions that plague the multiverse.
Who Caused The Incursions In Avengers: Doomsday?
The only character there’s any concrete evidence of having caused an incursion leading into Avengers: Doomsday is Doctor Strange, whose timey-whimey shenanigans in his last film and Spider-Man: No Way Home caused quite a lot of damage to the multiverse. In addition, it seems as though Steve Rogers may be another target of Doctor Doom thanks to another rumor.
If this rumor is true, it’s likely that Avengers: Doomsday will be sharing a very similar plot structure to Infinity War. Only, instead of Thanos sending out the Black Order to find the Infinity Stones, Doctor Doom will be sending a legion of Doombots to kill those who cause incursions. While slightly underwhelming, it is, at the very least, a sound plan.
