What is Avengers: Doomsday hiding? The trailer will reportedly conceal one key detail about Doctor Doom heading into the highly anticipated film.
With the first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday set to premiere in front of Avatar: Fire and Ash, there’s been a lot of reports about what fans may be able to expect. These reports haven’t been hefty, of course, given quite a few versions of the trailer are being cut for the audience. However, the key factor connecting all of them seems to be a focus on Doctor Doom.
Yet it seems not ALL of Doctor Doom will be in focus. A rumor from Kristian Harloff reveals that Doctor Doom’s face will NOT be shown in the first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday. The scooper would later amend the report to say that the masked version of Doctor Doom will be “heavily featured,” suggesting things aren’t exactly clear cut.
Doctor Doom’s Face In Avengers: Doomsday
Avengers: Doomsday is obviously in a tricky place with Doctor Doom. On one hand, the look of the villain’s face is one of the character’s most defining factors. On the other hand, Marvel spent more money than the GDP of Delaware to get Robert Downey Jr. on board, and it would be a truly boneheaded move not to include him in the trailer.
What this report most likely means is that most of the shots of Doctor Doom will likely be in his mask. However, there will be one or two shots in the trailer featuring Robert Downey Jr. unmasked. These unmasked scenes will likely be in the form of flashbacks prior to the events of Avengers: Doomsday, saving the look of his deformed face until the film hits silver screens.
