A new piece of Avengers: Endgame concept art show Chris Evans’ Captain America Wielding Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir.
The Avengers: Endgame concept art comes to us from artist Ryan Meinerding who has worked on several films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the head of visual development. In this particular image, Meinerding gave us a look at Chris Evans’ Captain America wielding Mjolnir for the first time. The original idea behind the concept art was that Captain America would be unsure if he could wield Mjolnir. A look of hesitation can be seen on Captain America’s face as he reaches for Mjolnir.
You can see the image of Captain America reaching for Mjolnir below:
The image, of course, was the basis for one of Avengers: Endgame‘s best moments. In a life or death struggle with Josh Brolin’s Thanos, Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America can’t seem to get the upper hand on the Mad Titan. Right when it seems like Thanos is about to kill Thor someone lifts Mjolnir and hits him in the back. The hammer then comes back to the wielder revealing that it was in fact Captain America who called Mjolnir. Thor then smiles, saying that he knew it before Captain America carries on the fight alone.
