Thanos’s appearance in Avengers: Endgame originally gave Josh Brolin’s character a more muted color scheme for his costume.
Concept artist Jerad S. Marantz recently showcased some of his workfor recent Marvel Studios movies, Avengers: Endgame among them. Naturally, this means that he got a crack at Josh Brolin’s Thanos. The artist’s take on Thanos remains faithful to the designs shown in the comics, but if it had been put to screen, it would have featured a much darker set of colors on the character’s costumes than what was seen in brief glimpses in The Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Avengers: Endgame.

As it stands, Josh Brolin’s Thanos will not be appearing in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline for now, but flashbacks are still potentially on the table if he is needed. Josh Brolin will be reprising his role as the Mad Titan on What If…?, a Disney Plusanimated series that explores alternate universes and showcases alternate outcomes to events shown in the films.
