Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has confirmed that development on the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s next big event film is well underway.
The two-year slate for Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe featured a lot of variety due to the introduction of new franchises, but fans were left wondering what the future held in store, since no team-up movie was included as a part of the slate aside from The Eternals. While speaking to Omelete during a 6-plus-hour stream at CCXP last weekend, Kevin Feige explained that just because they didn’t announce a big event movie does not mean that it isn’t coming down the road.
Here’s what Kevin Feige said about the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s future:
“The MCU is all interconnected, but we really focus on one movie at a time. We’re going to make the best Black Widow movie we can possibly make, the best Eternals movie we can make, the best Shang-Chi, the best Doctor Strange, Thor, Captain Marvel, Black Panther… And keep evolving their stories. Then, yes, it is always fun to see them come together in a master plan. Which is, I promise you well underway.”
A component that some Marvel fans are sleeping on, which will no doubt be used to build up to this event, is the development of the Disney+ series that will greatly expand upon the characters that have been established in the films, but are supporting players, alongside shows that introduce new characters that can serve as eventual franchise leads. The event that Kevin Feige is describing will likely be a movie, however, and one that audiences will no doubt wildly anticipate.
