Google calls Avengers: Endgame the most searched movie of 2019 in a new end-of-the-year roundup revealing the most searched terms in 2019.
The search engine recently collected all the things users have been looking for online throughout 2019 and revealed that the most searched movie was Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame. Since it has arguably been the biggest film of the year it comes as no surprise that it tops the list, especially when it’s the culmination of everything that the MCU has been building for over ten years. Plus, throw in search results for people looking for screening times and discussions about the film after seeing it – and it makes complete sense that Avengers: Endgame is top of the list.
The Avengers film wasn’t the only comic book movie on the most searched of 2019 list, with Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel in second place while Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker came third. Since the other two comic book movies sparked a flurry of debates online after their debut it’s no surprise that they made the list, but neither of them dominated the box office in the way Avengers: Endgame did. Also after Martin Scorsese’s recent comments regarding Marvel Studios, it seems obvious that Avengers: Endgame would get pulled back into the spotlight.
