‘Avengers: Endgame’ Producers Give More Hints That Thanos Is Still Alive

Avengers: Endgame producers Trinh Tran and Louis D’Esposito offered more hints on Thanos’ true fate in the artbook for Marvel epic.

Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame concluded with Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man sacrificing his life by using the Infinity Stones to erase Thanos and his army from existence. However, fans have been theorizing that Thanos is not truly dead ever since Avengers: Endgame was released in theaters.

The strongest support for this theory came from a deleted Avengers: Endgame scene in which The Ancient One explained that the Infinity Stone cannot reverse death, but they were capable of undoing the decimation caused by Thanos’ snap. Fans have taken this scene as evidence that those who were erased by Thanos weren’t technically dead and that this means the Mad Titan himself could also return, a concept producer Louis D’Esposito gave credence to in the book titled The Art of Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame:

“When someone dies, you cannot bring them back. It’s not like when Thanos snapped his fingers. You can reverse that.”

Avengers: Endgame producer Trinh Tran also gave credibility to the theory that snap didn’t technically kill anyone, including Thanos, by referring to the Mad Titan’s disappearance as the “blip,” the terms also used for the decimation of our heroes in Infinity War:

“[Tony chooses] to snap his finger and blip Thanos and his minions away to save the universe.”

Do you think Thanos could still return after Avengers: Endgame or would you prefer Marvel Studios’ move forward with a new main antagonist in the future? Let us know your thoughts on Thanos’ future below!
