A new Avengers: Endgame TV spot confirms one of Thor’s most trusted allies was killed in Thanos’ decimation.

Avengers: Infinity War concluded with Thanos successfully using the Infinity Stones to eradicate half of the population in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While fans were stunned to watch some of the favorite heroes erase from existence, the fates of other MCU characters who were not involved in Infinity War remained a mystery. Now, the latest TV spot for Avengers: Endgame includes a shot where Steve Rogers, Carol Danvers, and “Rhodey” watch a monitor displaying the many victims of Thanos decimation and Thor’s ally, Professor Erik Selvig, is revealed to be among the fallen.

Stellan Skarsgård made his debut as Erik Selvig in Thor and reprised the role in the sequel subtitled The Dark World. Thor’s friend also appeared in the first Avengers film and its sequel, Age of Ultron.
