Avengers: Infinity War is heading to Disney Plus and will arrive on the streaming platform on June 26.
While Avengers: Endgame made its debut on Disney Plus when the direct to consumer service launched last November, its predecessor, the first part of the culmination of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe — Avengers: Infinity War — was noticeably absent as the film was already locked into an exclusive agreement with Netflix. Avengers: Infinity War features the fractured Avengers team assembling with the Guardians of the Galaxy to take on Thanos and stop him in his effort to collect all six Infinity Stones.
Next up for the Marvel Cinematic Universe is Marvel Studios’ Black Widow. The film was originally set to hit theaters on May 1, however, the film was rescheduled to November 6 due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The long-awaited standalone film featuring Scarlett Johansson has been directed by Cate Shortland (Lore). Johansson recently described the film as a “family drama.” The script has been written by Eric Pearson, based on a story by Jac Schaeffer and Ned Benson.
Until then, fans can enjoy their favorite Marvel Studios films including Avengers: Infinity War when it arrives on Disney Plus next month.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Pom Klementieff, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland, Sebastian Stan, Chadwick Boseman, Benedict Wong, Tom Hiddleston, Benicio Del Toro, Danai Gurira and Josh Brolin. Here’s the film’s official synopsis:
As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.
