Marvel’s Avengers director Joss Whedon has paid a heartfelt tribute to Stan Lee following the iconic creator’s passing earlier today.

Lee passed away in Los Angeles at the age of 95 after he was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center today. Whedon, who directed both Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron before handing the reigns over to The Russo Bros. took to Twitter this afternoon to share his gratitude for the Marvel Legend.

Marvel Studios will follow-up on Infinity War next year with Avengers 4. Directed by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo from a script written by, Christopher Markus, and Stephen McFeely, the film stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Josh Brolin, Paul Rudd, Scarlett Johansson, Bradley Cooper, Brie Larson, and more.
