Marvel Fan Launches Petition To Change Fate Of Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man In ‘Avengers: Endgame’

Fans have launched a petition calling on Marvel Studios to reverse the fate of Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man in Avengers: Endgame.

The climactic battle between heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Thanos’ forces concluded with Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man using the Infinity Stones to erase the invaders, sacrificing his own life in the process. While many felt Avengers: Endgame offered a fitting conclusion to the story of the once self-centered Iron Man, it appears some want Marvel Studios to bring Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark back and they have launched a petition asking for the character’s fate to be reversed:

MCU’s Tony deserves to come back fully alive. Tony Stark was always ready to risk his lifesuffer, and sacrifice himself for anyone, without ever receiving anything in return. Since the beginning, since he was a kid. He can never be happy, and when he finally got what he always wanted, and deserved, his wife, his daughter, his family.. he died. He didn’t deserve this and it’s not fair, after everything he’s been through, and done for everyone, he deserves to live and see his daughter grow up.

As of now, the petition has garnered 18, 202 signatures and counting.

What are your thoughts on the latest fan petition requesting changes be made to the end of the journey for Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man? Were you satisfied for how things ended for Robert Downey Jr? Let us know below!

Veteran X-Men producer Simon Kinberg makes his directorial debut with Dark Phoenix in addition to producing the film with Hutch Parker, Lauren Schuler Donner and Todd Hallowell. Dark Phoenix is expected to be Fox's final X-Men film featuring the core X-Men cast in the cinematic universe launched by director Bryan Singer in 2000 with the Disney-Fox merger now complete.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Evan Peters, and Jessica Chastain. Here's the film's synopsis:

“This is the story of one of the X-Men’s most beloved characters, Jean Grey, as she evolves into the iconic DARK PHOENIX.  During a life-threatening rescue mission in space, Jean is hit by a cosmic force that transforms her into one of the most powerful mutants of all.  Wrestling with this increasingly unstable power as well as her own personal demons, Jean spirals out of control, tearing the X-Men family apart and threatening to destroy the very fabric of our planet.  The film is the most intense and emotional X-Men movie ever made. It is the culmination of 20 years of X-Men movies, as the family of mutants that we’ve come to know and love must face their most devastating enemy yet — one of their own.”

Dark Phoenix is set to hit theaters on June 7, 2019. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the future of the X-Men.
