Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars are set to unite the new and old generations of the MCU for one massive crossover. However, one of the biggest characters missing from the news is Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk. And there may very well be a good reason for that.
A rumor from MyTimeToShineHello reveals that She-Hulk was actually meant to play a major role in Avengers: Secret Wars. However, Tatiana Maslany reportedly has no interest in working with Disney. If the actress can’t be convinced to return, the current options are to cut the character from the script or recast the character for future MCU films.
“Marvel Studios wanted to use She-Hulk in a big way for Avengers: Secret Wars. The problem is that Tatiana Maslany has no interest in working for Disney. If they’re unable to convince her to return, the options are to remove the character altogether or recast the role.”
Why Won’t Tatiana Maslany Return As She-Hulk?
While not directly stated by the rumor, the reason Tatiana Maslany is declining to return for Avengers: Secret Wars likely has to do with Disney suspending Jimmy Kimmel’s comments following the death of political personality Charlie Kirk. Maslany was vocally against this decision, urging fans to cancel Disney-owned subscriptions such as Disney Plus, Hulu, and ESPN.
Tatiana Maslany isn’t the only major star hesitant to return to the MCU following this controversy. Oscar Isaac has been open about not wanting to work with Disney following the incident, calling the future of Moon Knight into question. Disney still has some time to get these stars on board for Avengers: Secret Wars, though it’s unclear if a compromise can be reached.
