Avengers: Secret Wars is bringing some major action to the Marvel Cinematic Universe! The production company for the upcoming film suggests Battleworld may be headed to the silver screen.
There are a lot of iconic moments from the Secret Wars comics, both the original and the 2015 redux, that will seemingly be left on the cutting room floor when the storyline is adapted to the MCU with Avengers: Secret Wars. Doom’s final stand-off with Reed, Spider-Man getting the symbiote suit, and Molecule Man’s burger, just to name a few. However, the one element fans are begging to see come to life is Battleworld.
Battleworld, for those who didn’t read the Secret Wars comics, is essentially a planet gumbo. The original saw planets from across the universe combined into one, while the 2015 sequel saw fragments from across the multiverse being pasted together. Though, regardless of which incarnation one looks at, they all serve the purpose of being one giant battle arena for the heroes to fight villains.
Is Battleworld In Avengers: Secret Wars?
The reason fans are so convinced that Battleworld is coming now is that a production company was recently formed to facilitate the filming of Avengers: Secret Wars. As with any major MCU project, this came with a codename. According to the Cosmic Circus, that codename is Royale Productions LLC, suggesting the film will feature a battle royale.
Given that Battleworld may be THE most iconic element of Secret Wars outside of Spider-Man’s black suit, it’s not shocking that they’d bring it into the MCU for Avengers: Secret Wars. And, with Doctor Doom taking on the multiverse, it’s more than likely going to take inspiration from the 2015 incarnation of the concept.
