Is the Marvel Cinematic Universe being saved by a bunch of nobodies? A cryptic rumor suggests that heroes of Avengers: Secret Wars may not be who fans expect.
Despite releasing in just under two years, fans know almost nothing about how the MCU will adapt Avengers: Secret Wars. There are some good guesses about who will be in the cast, with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange almost assured to make a return. But it’s not yet clear which heroes will be the “face” of the movie.
Many assume that, as Avengers: Secret Wars is capping off the Multiverse Saga, Marvel plans to plant the MCU’s versions of the characters as the “definitive” takes on the heroes. This would likely mean the characters such as Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man will take center stage as the heroes to stop Doctor Doom.
The True Heroes Of Avengers: Secret Wars
However, that assumption may not be as accurate as some first thought. Alex Perez from The Cosmic Circus recently posted a cryptic rumor teasing that “those who started it all” will be key in saving the MCU’s multiverse in Avengers: Secret Wars. This was followed up by sharing a flag posted by Ryan Reynolds that resembled the flag the Multiverse Avengers used in Deadpool and Wolverine, but is decidedly different in its color scheme.

While this rumor is purposefully meant to be vague, it seems as though the leading characters of Avengers: Secret Wars won’t be the leading faces of the MCU. Rather, they’ll be the ones that “started it all” for Marvel on the silver screen. This likely means Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man, Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man, and plenty of others.
Avengers: Secret Wars is set to hit theaters in December 2027. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
