Jeremy Renner resurfaced on Tuesday afternooon and posted a selfie on Instagram saying: “Thank you all for your kind words. I’m too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all.”
Avengers star Jeremy Renner suffered blunt chest trauma and other orthopedic injuries during his New Year’s Day accident.
According to an official statement from his family, Jeremy Renner is out of surgery but remains in a critical but stable condition. The actor suffered major injuries during a snow-plowing accident that took place in the early hours of Sunday at his residence in Reno, Nevada. He was airlifted to a nearby hospital, where he has undergone two surgeries, according to CNN.
“Jeremy’s family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve and the Carano and Murdock families,” a statement from the actor’s representation reads. “They are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans.”
New details about Jeremy Renner’s accident
TMZ reports that a plowing machine known as the Snowcat somehow ran over one of Jeremy Renner’s legs, with the actor losing a lot of blood. One of Renner’s neighbors happened to be a doctor and was able to put a tourniquet on his leg until the arrival of paramedics. The area is being treated as an active crime scene as the Snowcat is supposed to have safety measures to avoid these kind of accidents.
The major accident investigation team at the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is currently looking into the circumstances behind Jeremy Renner’s injuries. No further details are available at this time.
Jeremy Renner is best known for his work as Clint Barton AKA Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actor recently starred in a six-episode Hawkeye series on Disney Plus and will next be seen in the second season of the Paramount Plus crime thriller Mayor of Kingstown.
