The movie is said to follow the Miami PD and its elite AMMO team as they go up against a drug cartel that has a target on Mike’s head. Jerry Bruckheimer, Doug Belgrad and Will Smith are producing, with Barry Waldman, Mike Stenson, Chad Oman and James Lassiter serving as executive producers.

Bad Boys For Life has long been in development at the studio with Joe Carnahan (The Grey) previously attached to direct from a script he wrote. Carnahan got involved after Michael Bay’s exit but dropped out due to creative differences with Will Smith.
