‘Eternals’ Star Barry Keoghan Ponders A Druig & Loki Team Up

That would make an interesting duo!

Eternals actor Barry Keoghan shared his thoughts on a possible team-up between Druig and Loki.

Marvel Studios’ upcoming film Eternals introduces viewers to an ensemble of heroes that have been around since the very beginning of the chronology of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. One of the film’s stars, Barry Keoghan will play Druig, an Eternal that has the ability to manipulate other people’s minds, similar to the God of Mischief himself, Loki.

In the Eternals comics, Druig had been portrayed as a darker character that would go down a villainous path. Barry Keoghan told comicbookmovie.com about the possibility of exploring that in the future:

“Yeah, I think so. I don’t want to put any ideas out there. I definitely think he’ll take a stand. He finds it hard not to interfere and stuff. It’s for the right reasons. He has some valid points to interfere and he’s doing it for good reasons, but yeah, maybe he does. Maybe he does. I’ve got no idea!”

Barry Keoghan also revealed perhaps the most fitting MCU character he would like to see Druig team up with, and of course, it would be Tom Hiddleston as Loki:

“Hmm…I’m just going to throw my favourites out there so hopefully it happens. Thor? [Laughs]… I don’t know. Him and Loki definitely have a similar thing going on, right?” he pondered. “I don’t think they’d get on, though. Would they get on?”

It is unknown whether or not Eternals will receive a sequel, but given that Barry Keoghan is one of the most intriguing character actors of his generation, it would be interesting to see him play Druig alongside Tom Hiddleston’s Loki. The upcoming MCU film will not be the only comic book role he has in the next few months, because he will also have a role in DC’s highly-anticipated The Batman.

Here is the synopsis for the film:

“The story takes place across two time periods. One storyline is set in the past when they operated as a formidable team and a close family unit. The second storyline is in the present, when the group has fractured and split apart, content to live among humans, hiding in plain sight. The prevailing threat of the Deviants, which once again threatens the existence of mankind, means the Eternals need to put their differences aside and regroup.”

Chloe Zhao directed Eternals from a script she co-wrote with Patrick Burleigh, Kaz Firpo, and Ryan Firpo. The cast of the Marvel Studios project includes Gemma Chan as Sersi, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Barry Keoghan as Druig, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Kit Harington as Dane Whitman, Salma Hayek as Ajak, and Angelina Jolie as Thena.

Eternals will hit theaters on November 5, 2021. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding the upcoming film, Barry Keoghan’s Druig, and Loki, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
