Barbara's going on a stroll!

New set photos from Batgirl have teased Leslie Grace’s Barbara Gordon look.

HBO Max’s highly-anticipated Batgirl film is still rolling cameras. Starring Leslie Grace, the film will be the first time Batgirl spearheads her own film. The character last appeared in 1997’s maligned Batman & Robin. This version of the character will exist within the larger DC Extended Universe, though it remains to be seen how the cinematic universe will change after the events of The Flash.

The Leslie Grace film will also see Michael Keaton returning as Batman, a role he’ll be reprising later this year in The Flash. How does Batman factor into HBO Max’s Batgirl project? Only time will tell, though for now, we speculate that he’ll be training the young superhero. While all eyes are on Batgirl, we can’t forget the hero’s real-life identity: Barbara Gordon. The daughter of Commissioner Jim Gordon, Barbara is known to be a chip off the old block.

Brand new set photos have teased Leslie Grace’s look as Barbara Gordon. The character can be seen rocking auburn hair, which is in line with the character’s comic book look. We’re not sure what Barbara’s up to but she’s clearly prowling the streets of Gotham!

Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are directing Batgirl, which is being planned as a movie for the WarnerMedia streaming service HBO Max. The two most recently directed the 2020 box office hit Bad Boys for Life and episodes of the upcoming Disney Plus series Ms. Marvel. Christina Hodson, the screenwriter behind Birds of Prey and The Flash, penned the script for the DCEU film.

DC’s Batgirl movie is set to follow the Barbara Gordon iteration of the Gotham City heroine. JK Simmons also stars as Commissioner Gordon, Brendan Fraser will appear as the villain Firefly, and Michael Keaton is returning as his version of Batman.

Batgirl will hit HBO Max sometime this year. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news on the future of the DCEU, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
