Batgirl star Leslie Grace shared a hilarious and self-aware Halloween video of herself donning Barbara Gordon’s superhero suit.
While we know J. K. Simmons will be returning as Commissioner Gordon for HBO Max’s Batgirl films, not much is known about Leslie Grace’s upcoming stint as Batgirl. It was recently announced that Doom Patrol star Brendan Fraser has been tapped to play the film’s big bad Firefly. Beyond that, we don’t know much, except that Grace’s take on Barbara Gordon will have red hair. In fact, we don’t even know what this iteration of Batgirl will look like.
To celebrate Halloween, Leslie Grace dressed up as Batgirl… but not her version of the superhero. Instead, Grace put on a Batgirl onesie and a tongue-in-cheek toy helmet, all set to the old-school Batgirl theme song.
Obviously, Leslie Grace’s video doesn’t reveal what she looks like as her version of Batgirl but it’s still great to see the actor suited up. The video ends with Grace getting into a fighting pose and going for a kick, giving us a hint as to what we can expect once see the In The Heights star finally suit up as the DC hero.
Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are set to direct Batgirl, which is being planned as a movie for the WarnerMedia streaming service HBO Max. The two most recently directed the 2020 box office hit Bad Boys for Life and episodes of the upcoming Disney Plus series Ms. Marvel. Christina Hodson, the screenwriter behind Birds of Prey and The Flash, penned the script.
The Batgirl movie is set to follow the Barbara Gordon iteration of the Gotham City heroine. Barbara was last seen in a live-action feature film in Joel Schumacher’s Batman & Robin, with Alicia Silverstone playing the iconic DC Comics character.
