Batman comic book writer Tom King revealed Catwoman is pregnant.

Although Tom King has departed the main Batman comic book series, the writer will conclude his planned 100-issue run with a new mini-series titled Batwoman Catwoman. Although a release date for the first entry in the Batman Catwoman miniseries has yet to be announced, Tom King took to his official Twitter account to reveal a major piece of information regarding the upcoming comic.

In the post, Tom King included an image of Batman and Catwoman standing on the rooftops of Gotham, with the latter clearly pregnant. The Batman Catwoman artwork was drawn by Mikel Janin and colored by Jordie Bellaire.

In past comics, Batman and Catwoman had a child named Helena Wayne, who would later become the Golden Age version of the Huntress. However, the character was changed to Helena Bertinelli after the events of Crisis on Infinite Earths, complete with a new backstory and family. Currently, there is no information on whether Batman Catwoman will reintroduce Helena Wayne or if the child is a completely new character.

Tom King is also c-writing the script for New Gods, a DC film helmed Ava DuVernay. Meanwhile, Batman and Catwoman are set to return to the big screen in a new film from director Matt Reeves.

Full plot details on The Batman are currently under wraps, though the film will center around a younger Bruce Wayne and feature a Rogues’ Gallery of villains that includes Catwoman, The Penguin, and The Riddler. The Matt Reeves film will follow Batman during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector and will make use of the Dark Knight’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous DC films. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new trilogy from Warner Bros. with Robert Pattinson as Batman.

Directed by Matt Reeves from a script he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál, with Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin.

The Batman is scheduled to be released in theaters on June 25, 2021.
