“As of today, It has slowly made its way to $863,493,483 at the Worldwide Box Office. While that isn’t the billion some were hoping for, it is an ok number.”

Oh Lawsy!!! Now this here paragraph is gon’ set off a few of the mo’ militant dc sycophants that be frequentin’ this here site. SAMMY136 and MAGGIE MAGWOOD is gon’ be cryin’ “LIES n’ PROPAGANDA!” and accusin’ this here site of Marvel favoritism and other butt-hurt dc fangurl nonsense!

You have to admit close to $900 million worldwide wouldn’t be called simply OK for any other film.

      • Marquis de Sade

…and that’s only because no other movie cost $410 million in production and marketing. Trust, the criticisms (financially) is well deserved.

        • Vegas82

Really? Many movies have had budgets in excess of $250 million for production alone. For big films(like AoU $280 mil budget) the marketing budget easily pushes them to this level.

          • Marquis de Sade

Outside of (maybe) Avatar, no other movie has spent upward to an additional $160 million in marketing, unless it was co-financed with another studio, as was the case with Jim Cameron’s Titanic, which was a joint venture with Paramount and Fox.

          • SAMURAI36

Tell it again, I don’t think he’s listening, or he’s too stupid to listen.

          • SAMURAI36

And add to that, the amount that DC/WB made in licensing, which more or less financed the entire film, and they pretty much pocketed most of that $800M.

      • Dan McCarney

No other film had Superman and Batman, two of the most popular and recognizable pop culture properties in the world.
