Warner Bros. Montreal’s Batman Game May Be Announed In December

Warner Bros Montreal DC Comics Batman

A new report claims that a brand new Batman video game coming from Warner Bros Montreal will be revealed next month.

This report comes courtesy of the YouTube channel SLCMOF, with claims that Warner Bros Montreal will officially announce the new Batman video game at the Game Awards 2019 on Thursday December 12. According to SLCMOF, the source in which this news comes from was the same source that leaked information on the now-cancelled Damian Wayne Batman video game. The Arkham Channel also backs the source, adding more legitimacy to the report.

Back in September, Warner Bros Montreal teased the new Batman game with a logo video. This led fans to speculate that Warner Bros Montreal was teasing the revelation of the project coming sooner rather than later. No announcement has been made yet, but don’t be surprised if we finally get that reveal by the end of the year if this report is to be believed.

Meanwhile, Warner Bros. plans to bring the Caped Crusader back to the big screen in a new film from director Matt Reeves. Plot details for The Batman are currently under wraps, though the film will center around a younger Bruce Wayne and features a Rogues’ Gallery of villains that reportedly includes Catwoman and the Penguin. The Matt Reeves film will follow Batman during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector and will make use of the Dark Knight’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous DC films. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new trilogy with Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader.

Matt Reeves’ The Batman is one of the many projects currently being developed by Warner Bros. and DC. These projects include The Flash standalone film, Green Lantern Corps, Black Adam, Cyborg, Supergirl, New Gods, and Nightwing.

The Batman will be released in theaters on June 25, 2021.
