Batwoman star Javicia Leslie reacts to landing the role after Ruby Rose decided to leave The CW series behind.
After months of wondering who will replace Ruby Rose as Batwoman, it was recently announced that Good Friended Me star Javicia Leslie will don the cape and cowl for the second season of the DC Comics drama. Although fans are anxiously waiting to learn why Kate Kane leaves Gotham City ahead of the second season, it’s great to finally learn who will lead the cast of the Arrowverse series. Leslie was understandably excited about landing the role and took to Instagram to post a touching message.
Batwoman star Javicia Leslie posted a screenshot of the Deadline article announcing the news she’d joined The CW series alongside a motivational caption. She said “For all the little black girls dreaming to be a superhero one day… It’s possible!” It’s undeniably an important moment, since Leslie is the first black woman to don the cowl in live-action.
