Batwoman star Javicia Leslie is returning to the Arrowverse thanks to The Flash.
Entertainment Weekly reports that Batwoman star Javicia Leslie has signed on to appear in the upcoming ninth and final season of the Grant Gustin series The Flash. Details regarding the nature of Leslie’s The Flash role are being kept under under wraps by The CW.
Has Javicia Leslie’s The Flash role already been revealed?
Recent photos from the set of The Flash season nine offered fans a first look at Javicia Leslie filming scenes for the Arrowverse series. In the photos, Leslie can be seen wearing the same outfit as the DC Comics villain Red Death, a classic foe of The Flash who was first referenced in the series back in 2019. The reason behind Leslie’s Red Death outfit is curently a mystery.
Created by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo and introduced in DC Metal, Red Death comes from Earth-52. In that world, Bruce Wayne was pushed to the edge after all the Robins had been killed in action. Bruce decided to steal The Flash’s speed by combining the Batmobile with the Cosmic Treadmill while strapping the hero to the front of it. Bruce and Barry Allen then merged into one person, with the former Batman overriding The Flash’s personality and becoming Red Death.
Javicia Leslie made her Arrowverse debut in the second season of Batwoman. Her character Ryan Wilder replaced Kate Kane as the Arrowverse’s Batwoman after Ruby Rose’s much-publicized exit from the series. However, Batwoman was cancelled this past April after its third season.
Production is currently underway on the final season of The Flash ahead of the show’s highly-anticipated return on The CW. The final season consists of 13 episodes, premiering early next year.
