Ben Affleck Shares Cryptic Deathstroke Video

UPDATE: The Wrap has revealed that Deathstroke will be the main antagonist in Ben Affleck’s Batman movie.

Woah, this came out of nowhere. Ben Affleck, who’s currently filming Justice League in London, decided that it would be a great idea to break the internet this morning, so he took to Twitter to share test footage of Deathstroke.

The video seems to be some sort of costume test on the set of Justice League, which is knee-deep into production. We know that Ben Affleck will direct and star in a standalone Batman movie, which he co-wrote alongside Geoff Johns, but the movie doesn’t have an official release date yet. This means that this video could be a costume test for one of these two projects… or perhaps even both.

There’s a chance that Deathstroke could make his big screen debut in Justice League and later become one of the antagonists in Affleck’s Batman movie, which is rumored to feature a large ensemble of villains. That’s pure speculation, though, but I think it’s interesting that the Batmobile is right behind him. What do you guys think?

You can check out the video below.

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Amber Heard, Jeremy Irons, J.K. Simmons, Willem Dafoe and Julian Lewis Jones, Justice League hits theaters on November 17, 2017.

oh my lord! Deathstroke in Justice League! God DAMN! Hope this is true!

  • JNAZ

For a multi awarded director, Ben’s camera handling sucks. But yes, i do hope this is test footage for the batman movie and not some video game.

    • str81337

He is a director/ actor not a camera man.

      • JNAZ

Lol next time i’ll make sure to point out the sarcasm in my posts for the humor challenged.

        • SAMURAI36

Riiiight. Nobody here read what you said as “sarcasm”, so perhaps we’re not the ones who are “humor Challenged”.

          • JNAZ

Oh my bad, didn’t realize you asked every single poster here if they caught the sarcasm or not.

          • SAMURAI36

Good thing I did what you clearly didn’t, which was read the responses of other poster on here.

          • JNAZ

From my count there were two replies to my post, which i don’t think equates to “nobody here” gets my sarcasm. But hey, whatever floats your boat bro, if it makes you feel like a champ in life then have at it. Sorry guy, but I ain’t got time for trolls so go and hump someone else’s leg.

          • SAMURAI36

Ah, so you’re one of those geniuses, huh? This’ll come back to bite you later on. Mark my words.

          • JNAZ

Wow, an online threat? Seriously? lol. Thats epic. Have a good life kid, but i don’t think I’ll ever reply to you again. I fear that you might go online gangsta on me, pull out your virtual samurai and slash my feelings to pieces. I don’t know how I’d survive that.

          • SAMURAI36

            LMAO, this guy.

        • AJayL

          I understood it

        • str81337

That would be best since sarcasm doesn’t work in text. Also sarcasm has nothing to do with humor. sar·casm
          ˈsärˌkazəm/
          noun
the use of irony to mock or convey contempt.
“his voice, hardened by sarcasm, could not hide his resentment”
synonyms: derision, mockery, ridicule, scorn, sneering, scoffing; More

        • str81337

See what I did there that is sarcasm

    • SAMURAI36

You do realize that he was likely holding a PHONE, and was recording a recording, yes?

      • JNAZ

You do realize i was being sarcastic, yes? Lol

        • SAMURAI36

          No, LOL.

  • w0undedmagic

    WHOA!

  • flavortang

Every day… almost every d@mn day there’s some exciting DCEU news. Did you notice he panned over to an air cooler beside the monitor with the name “Titan” on it?

  • Marquis de Sade

I hope that Deathstroke costume is a prototype, and not the actual costume they’re going to use…cuz it looks wayyyy too plastic in a cheesy sci-fy channel sorta-a-way.

    • Joey Wabi-Sabi

I’ll take a practical costume over CGI any day. Marvel could learn a thing or two from DC about making epic costumes. Even the armoured Batsuit was real!
And nothing will ever be more cheesy than THIS laughable image right here:

      • JNAZ

Actually the armored batsuit during the fight scenes were in fact CGI’d. They indeed have a real version but it would’ve been impossible for Affleck to do any action moves in because it was so bulky.

        • Darthmanwe

Well, they CGIed most of it, but since there was an actual reference built that actually moved around and filmed, it looked more real than most CGI.

  • SAMURAI36

Man, this makes me soooo happy.

    • w0undedmagic

Did you see the Batmobile in the background? I read this hangar matches the one seen in the “Flying Fox” on the JL set visit. Very interesting!

      • Hinscher

I wouldn’t think too much on it though. From the looks of it, its a pure green screen scene. So they most likely just testing lighting on the Suit to see what changes they wan tot make, and just threw in a generic background they had already used on Justice League.

        • SAMURAI36

I disagree. They could have easily saved him for something else, if he was meant for something else. There’s no need to test a costume on a set for a movie that he wouldn’t be appearing in.

          • Hinscher

            Fan feedback.
See what the internet thinks of the villain, the suit, ect.
Or he is just giving us a treat.

        • w0undedmagic

Yea, it definitely looks like test footage, but the fact that Affleck shared it this early is what makes me curious. They’re filming JL now, and the costume appears to be finished. The Batman solo film doesn’t even have a release date yet.

      • SAMURAI36

I did indeed!! Which leads to the notion that we could be getting DS in either/or (or both) JL or Batman, possibly even SS2.
