Shazam! director David F. Sandberg replaces Ben Affleck with Zachary Levi in a hilarious Batman v Superman joke.
There’s been plenty of jokes made at the DC Extended Universe’s expense over the years, many involving the now infamous Martha line from Ben Affleck. But Shazam! director David F. Sandberg chose a completely different Batman v Superman scene to joke about in a brilliant new post on Instagram. Most recently, Sandberg explained why he chose to use the John Williams Superman theme instead of Hans Zimmer’s when the Kryptonian briefly appeared at the end of the Zachary Levi film.
The Shazam! director took to Instagram to make his brilliant reimagining of the Knightmare scene from Batman v Superman. He used figures of Henry Cavill’s Superman and Ben Affleck’s Batman to recreate the intimidating moment where the Kryptonian removes the cowl from the Dark Knight. Only in this version, when the cowl is removed Superman’s shocked to see Zachary Levi’s head instead of Affleck’s Batman. Take a look at the excellent Batman v Superman joke from the Shazam! director below.

Here is the synopsis for the first Shazam! movie:
We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quick.
Directed by David F. Sandberg, the film stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans and Djimon Hounsou.
Shazam! is now available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the Shazam! sequel as we learn it. You can also subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content in the future!
