Benedict Cumberbatch recently shared that he’s committed to playing Doctor Strange for another decade.

Spoilers ahead for Multiverse of Madness!

Multiverse of Madness already marks Benedict Cumberbatch’s sixth Marvel Cinematic Universe film, and he also voiced the character in the What If…? animated series. With Steve Rogers and Tony Stark no longer active, many see Doctor Strange as one of the quintessential parts of the MCU moving forward.

The ending of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness revealed the Avenger’s third eye from the Darkhold and joined Charlize Theron’s Clea to fix some incursions. Based on the film’s ending alone, there will be more of Stange in the future, but how much more?

Actors such as Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. have played their characters for a decade, with others like Chris Hemsworth extending their MCU run. In an interview with National Post, Cumberbatch opened up about how long he is willing to play the Marvel character when asked about playing him for ten more years:

“If they keep him evolving, I think there’s a lot of places for him to explore. So yeah, bring it on.”

Here is the synopsis for the Marvel Studios film:

The MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.

Directed by Sam Raimi from a script written by Michael Waldron, the film stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, with Michael Stuhlbarg, Rachel McAdams, and Patrick Stewart.
